Job Title: Roofing Construction Manager – Commercial Roofing
Location: Pompano Beach

Job Overview
The Commercial Roofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations on 
commercial roofing projects. This role ensures that all projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and in 
compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and client specifications. The Superintendent will supervise 
roofing crews, subcontractors, and vendors, while also maintaining communication with project stakeholders 
and ensuring the highest standards of quality control are met.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Supervision & Coordination
o Oversee and manage the daily operations of roofing projects, including coordinating materials, 
labor, and equipment.
o Ensure roofing installations, repairs, and replacements meet specifications, timelines, and 
budgets.
o Ensure that job sites are set up safely, and all safety protocols are strictly followed.
o Coordinate work schedules and ensure adequate staffing to meet project timelines.
o Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during 
construction.
2. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
o Supervise roofing crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to 
safety standards.
o Provide hands-on leadership and guidance, offering problem-solving support to the roofing team 
when necessary.
o Conduct daily meetings with the team to review the progress, challenges, and next steps.
o Ensure that all team members are trained on safety procedures and the proper use of tools and 
equipment.
3. Quality Control & Inspections
o Monitor the quality of roofing installations to ensure they meet both company standards and 
industry regulations.
o Conduct routine inspections of completed work to identify any issues and implement corrective 
actions when necessary.
o Ensure proper documentation of inspections, materials used, and any work performed for 
warranty or client purposes.
o Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure any discrepancies in scope or design are 
addressed.
4. Safety Management
o Maintain a safety-first approach on all job sites, ensuring that OSHA and company safety 
guidelines are consistently followed.
o Conduct daily safety meetings, monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and 
ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
o Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents and recommend corrective actions.
o Ensure that all workers are properly trained and certified in safety procedures, particularly 
regarding working at heights and with heavy materials.
5. Communication
o Serve as the primary on-site liaison for clients, general contractors, and other project 
stakeholders.
o Keep project manager informed on progress, project timelines, and any issues or delays that arise 
during the roofing process.
o Resolve any client or subcontractor issues promptly and professionally, keeping the project 
moving forward smoothly.
o Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure the project’s success.
6. Materials & Resource Management
o Ensure that roofing materials are delivered on time and in the proper quantities.
o Monitor inventory levels of roofing materials and coordinate with procurement or suppliers to 
ensure timely resupply.
o Oversee equipment and tool management, ensuring everything is in good working condition and 
available when needed.
7. Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of daily job site activities, including work completed, personnel, 
weather conditions, and safety observations.
o Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
o Document any change orders, delays, or unforeseen issues that may impact the project timeline 
or cost.
o Ensure that all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and documented properly.
8. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting
o Proactively identify and resolve issues that may cause project delays or quality concerns.
o Troubleshoot roofing system failures, system installation problems, or design challenges and 
implement solutions as necessary.
o Work with project managers to manage scope changes, unexpected site conditions, or client 
requests.

Qualifications


• Education:
o High school diploma or GED required.
o Vocational training or relevant certifications in construction or roofing preferred.
• Experience:
o Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing or a related field, with at least 2 years in a 
supervisory or leadership role.
o Experience managing commercial roofing projects, including TPO, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, 
Built-Up Roofing, and other commercial systems.
o Strong understanding of roofing installation, repairs, and best practices.
o Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Skills & Abilities:
o Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
o Ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and vendors simultaneously.
o Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
o Skilled in problem-solving and troubleshooting on-site issues.
o Proficient in using roofing and construction management software and tools.
o Strong understanding of OSHA safety guidelines and the ability to enforce them on the job site.
• Certifications:
o OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
o Roofing contractor license (if applicable).
o First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
o Certification in specific roofing systems is a plus (e.g., EPDM, TPO).
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry heavy roofing materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods.
• Comfort working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
