Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Supervising Investigator (SI), Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) of the Orange Unit (Unit) in the Law Enforcement Branch in the Enforcement Division (Division) within the Department of Cannabis Control (Department), the Office Technician (Typing) [OT(T)] will perform a variety of the most difficult duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks. The OT (T) will be responsible for administrative and clerical functions in the Unit.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) - Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to CORI. Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance with CORI procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
