Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the city of Norwalk.

DSH-Metropolitan, Medical Services Department  is accepting applications for Medical Supply Technician, Permanent/Full-time. Working Title : Medical Supply Technician - Medical Services.

Under the general direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse, the Medical Services Central Supply is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill this permanent, full-time position. Duties include but are not limited to: inventory management, including ordering, stocking and maintaining necessary medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and readiness for use; cleaning and preparing dirty instruments for sterilization using aseptic techniques; packaging instruments; completing bacteriological testing on table top sterilizer (weekly) while maintaining documentation and records; operating table top sterilizer as often as needed; maintaining cleanliness of sterilization and storage areas daily; communicating with vendors, requesting quotes for needed supplies or equipment; completing Intra-office Requisition Form 5; general office work, data entry, tracking; exercising excellent communication and organizational skills; other duties and special projects as assigned, consistent with this classification.
