Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Legal Analyst  to  perform a wide variety of paralegal duties assigned to the Corporate Affairs Bureau.

Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel, the Legal Analyst is an experienced paralegal and provides paralegal and legal analytical support to the attorneys in complex areas of the law, including: review and analysis of applications and departmental files related to a filing; performing legal research; manage CAB databases, maintain and update the Departments public web site; develop and prepare reports derived from legal case management files and other online systems; prepare and transmit Certificates of Authority, licenses and registration; review and analyze registration applications on behalf of risk purchasing groups; and review and analyze name approval applications for new insurance entities and for name amendments applications to Certificates of Authority.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 and related Pay Differential 386. PLP 2025 requires employees to receive a reduction in pay in exchange for monthly hours of PLP 2025 leave credits.
