Job Title: Instrument and Electrical Technician II
Location: Hwy 80, Midland, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5/2 | 55 Hours per Week
(40 hours straight time + 15–20 hours overtime; occasional weekend and holiday work may be required)
Position Overview We are actively searching for
Instrument and Electrical Technicians II to support operations at a major oil and gas processing facility near Midland, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced I&E professionals to contribute to a high-performing operations team. The role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems critical to production reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities - Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with safety regulations and work practices
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems in a processing or production environment
- Ensure compliance with performance standards, product quality, and equipment reliability
- Support and promote safe work practices under the Permit to Work System (PTWS)
- Monitor and inspect new installations; recommend or implement upgrades as needed
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to coordinate work effectively
- Review and contribute to control specifications and work practices
- Support development of team technical skills and attend/lead technical meetings
- Provide technical support to fellow technicians and act as a backup for I&E Lead when required
- Generate and follow through on Management of Change (MOC) requests for I&E systems
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and documentation in all assigned tasks
Required Qualifications - Associate degree in a technical field (preferred), with additional certifications from a technical school
- Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in oil & gas processing plants or offshore production facilities
- Strong working knowledge of OIMS (Operations Integrity Management System), industry regulations, and safety protocols
- Familiarity with P&IDs, control loops, calibration, motor controls, and permit systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex I&E issues and implement effective solutions
