Description

Were always looking for talented individuals with fresh voices to join our dynamic team of writers and editors.

This is a 6-month, unpaid, remote internship that offers flexibility, allowing you to produce at least 3 blog posts per month (or more, depending on your schedule) across various verticals, with each post published under your own byline.

While you will have the autonomy to work at your own pace, meeting deadlines is a key expectation.

As a Copy Editor & Sr. Writer Intern , you will research and write blog posts on trending topics relevant to your assigned vertical, ensuring the content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with our editorial voice. You will also edit and refine other team members' articles, ensuring clarity, consistency, and proper grammar, while maintaining the original tone and message. 

Additionally, you will assist in preparing articles for drafting and publication in our Content Management System (WordPress), ensuring that content is properly formatted and ready for approval. You will support and train other team members in the workflow process, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge to meet deadlines and produce high-quality content. Lastly, you will attend managerial and staff meetings to stay aligned with our editorial goals and team initiatives.

This internship is perfect for individuals who have strong critical thinking and editing skills, with a passion for digital writing and content creation. You'll work closely with our team to gain hands-on experience in writing, editing, and publishing blog content, all while honing your skills in content management.

Our program is designed to cater to individuals at various skill levels, providing the flexibility to progress based on your abilities. By the end of the internship, you'll have developed the skills needed to create polished, professional-grade content, whether for your personal portfolio or any future employer.

Responsibilities

• Shape the entertainment and lifestyle narrative for Just N Life, serving as the brands subject matter expert to fuel audience loyalty and drive affiliate revenue

• Collaborate with the Social Media/Marketing team, Publishing Editors, and Management to align content strategies, creative ideation, and social promotion efforts. Work across departments to ensure that content supports the company's broader goals and KPIs.

• Mentor and support team members, providing assistance with pitches, growth opportunities, and ensuring deadlines are met. 
  
• Help guide junior writers and other interns, ensuring a collaborative and effective workflow.

• Appear in press and video content as the brand's Copy Editor + Sr. Writer, further establishing the brand's authority in the industry.
  
• Collaborate with the Publishing Editors to generate creative content ideas that resonate with our audience.

• Update and format content in WordPress, ensuring articles are optimized for SEO, user-friendly, and aligned with engagement goals. Ensure content performs well in search engines and resonates with the platforms audience.

• Conduct interviews and gather information from reliable sources to enhance the depth and quality of articles.

• Seek opportunities to work with external industry professionals and build sustained relationships.

• Adhere to deadlines and manage multiple writing assignments simultaneously.

• Revise and proofread articles in ClickUp to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines.

• Update and format articles in ClickUp, ensuring articles are optimized for SEO and are user-friendly.

• Assist in the editorial process by overseeing the final formatting, adding media assets, and, if needed, publishing posts.

• Stay updated on industry trends and contribute ideas to enhance our content strategy.

• Engage with our audience through comments and social media to gather feedback and insights.

• Participate in editorial meetings, contributing ideas, and sharing feedback on team projects.

Requirements

• Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  
• Passion for storytelling and the ability to craft compelling narratives.
• High level understanding of blogging, cities, and social media platforms
• Follow pop culture and trends
• Adapt to the company's writing style
• A champion of inclusivity and diversity, viewing both as an integral part of editorial content.
• Experience motivating and collaborating with a team of editors and writers to produce their best work on time with accuracy in order to hit goals.
• Ability to write that engages with readers and stay on topic
• Extremely Detail-Oriented and level-headed under pressure
• Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information into engaging articles.
• Previous experience with content creation, journalism, or blogging (a plus, but not required).
• Knowledge of SEO best practices for content optimization.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., ClickUp,WordPress) is a plus.
• Own or have access to internet and a computer
• Graduate with a desire for continued adult learning or currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Journalism, English, Communications).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
