Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 1 for a contract opportunity in one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
o Previous experience working as a Scrum Master in a technical environment.
o Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices, including Scrum or Kanban
o Proficiency in using Jira for tracking tickets, helping manage the product backlog, and facilitating Agile workflows.
o Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
o Experience in embedded real-time software development, with a focus on embedded C++ and VxWorks.
o Current/active secret clearance
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to support our SiAW program who with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative teams to help develop, enhance, and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will work on software system efforts for the Software Development Team on the SiAW program. This position will serve on-site at Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) in one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise to:
o Design and develop Embedded software,
o Design and documentation of software applications
o Test and evaluation, simulation of applicable software applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience with Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet)
o Experience with Networking protocols (IPSec, TLS)
o Experience with TCP/IP and common network configurations
o Experience implementing cryptographic mechanisms using dedicated software libraries (wolfSSL)
o Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development/modifications
o Familiarity with assembly language
o Familiarity with to bare metal embedded device drivers
o Familiarity with PowerPC architectures and peripherals
o Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGA
o Familiarity with Xilinx tools (Vitis, Vivado)
o Familiarity with IBM tools (Rhapsody, DOORS, Clearcase)
o Familiarity with Green Hills AdaMulti
o Familiarity with Static Analysis and Unit Testing
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 1st shift. 100% On-Site. This position will serve on-site at one of the following locations: Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ.
